The aim of this paper is to examine some aspects of perception of beauty in Islamic philosophy, especially the aspect related to the problem of cognition and being. There are different approaches of Islamic philosophers towards beauty. It depends on their aspect towards the issue of cognition and being which can be peripatetical, illuminationist or sufi. That is why Islamic philosophers mention several kinds of beauty, like metaphysical, intellectual and sensitive beauty. Keywords: being, beauty, kindliness, truth, reality, cognition
